The Longest Lasting: Lit Wick candles are incredibly long lasting:

a 26 oz. candle will last approx. 200 hours

a 16 oz. candle will last approx. 140 hours

Tealights will last approx. 4 - 5 hours each

Double Wicks: Each of our candles has two wicks! Yes, that's right, two! That way you are assured to get an even burn, as well as double the charm of a flickering candle flame.

No Waste: There is no wasted wax; our candles are specifically designed through careful research to burn evenly, and the wax will liquefy so you get full use of it.

Safe To Burn: It's a cool burning wax. What does that mean? Simple; if anyone were to spill one of our candles, they wouldn't be hurt. The melted wax is warm, but not hot enough to harm you or your loved ones.

Safety Wicks: Our candles are made with Safety Wicks, which means that they will extinguish themselves when there is approximately 1/4 inch wax left in the jar. No, you are not losing product-- that amount of remaining wax has been figured into our burn times!

Hand Poured: Each and every candle produced by The Lit Wick Candle Co. is individually hand poured to ensure the highest quality for you.

Like you, I've been a candle lover for many years; in fact, way too many years to mention! But I've never been completely satisfied. Either the fragrances wouldn't travel, they didn't smell as good when burned, there was a lot of wasted wax for the money I spent, or they were just too darned expensive in general.

Though I continued buying candles from a variety of both large and small companies, I began to experiment on my own. Now this is the part where you expect me to say that I miraculously came up with my special blend of waxes and fragrances and lo and behold, The Lit Wick Candle Co. was born, right? Wrong! It wasn't even close to being that easy!

After experimenting and failing miserably, I realized I had a lot to learn, and that's an understatement. So I set out on a journey of education and experimentation that lasted about 12 years. I learned all about the molecular structure of different types of waxes and of various kinds of oils. I learned all about the dyes, too. It became a study of chemistry. Who knew?! I sure didn't.

Through years of hard work, I learned a great deal and was then able to experiment knowledgeably. Finally, I created my own blend of waxes that did exactly what I wanted; last a long time, burn at a cool, safe temperature and create an incredibly large scent throw.

By experimenting with oils I learned how to create my own unique fragrances as well. Fragrances that not only were enjoyable and soothing but that brought back memories and that were true to their names.

Of course, throughout this process, I didn't tell a soul. I didn't want anyone to either laugh at me or discourage me. So one day, after I'd created a candle that I would be thrilled to buy, I made candles and gave them to family as gifts. This is where the Hollywood-type ending comes in. My family loved their new candles and encouraged me to sell them.

After a lot of hemming and hawing and loss of sleep, I decided to take the plunge and I founded The Lit Wick Candle Co. We began doing direct sales only, then broadened to selling candles at craft shows and fairs (which we still do, averaging 40 fairs a year). Now we've entered into the World Wide Web.

Already The Lit Wick Candle Co. has customers not only across the United States, but our candles can be found burning in Canada, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and even Bulgaria! How's that for spreading the word!
